Our unique little store is located right in the center of the beautiful state of Iowa, in a small town called Huxley. We are only minutes from Altoona, Ames, Ankeny, Boone, Cambridge, Des Moines, Marshalltown, Nevada, Pella, and Polk City.

We are a small family owned business that began in a century old chicken coop and two-hoop greenhouses on our acreage just outside of town in the spring of 1993.

Growing herbs, perennials and unusual annuals, and flowering baskets, we sold them at the farmer’s market in Ames, as well as created fun floral arrangements, gifts, and re-purposed furniture finds.

The convenience of working from home was just what we needed when our brood of children were younger. Now that they have flown the coop we have moved the shop to a more convenient location on a paved U.S. highway and handicap accessible in the Ballard Plaza right in the heart of Huxley. Our store front should make you feel like you are visiting the little shed on the farm. 

The larger space has allowed us to expand our inventory, make and deliver fresh flower arrangements for all occasions, repurpose furniture, and provide unique one-of-a-kind gifts and decor for you to choose from. Although our menagerie of farm animals are unable to join us, we are always working on something special you will want to see or experience with your friends and family. We look forward to new and exciting adventures with you in the “new Chicken Shed!”

Our goal is to provide a variety of fun and ever-changing items for you to choose from. We offer great service at a fair price so you will want to return. Our hope and prayer is that you will become one of our friends and visit often.
