If you would like to join us and adopt -an-elder and we would love your help! Every resident will receive a small jar with fresh flowers and an ornament with pressed dried flowers for their room along with a hand written Christmas wish.
The cost for each one is about $10. I have a goal of 300 flower donations for elderly local residents. I will be matching with my own money and will not make a profit- this is about blessing those who raised us, worked hard to provide for others and have amazing stories to tell us!

Adopt an Elder for Christmas is in full swing! Christmas time can be a difficult time for people in the nursing home or home bound. The winter weather combined with busy family or no family can be lonely for many Elderly people.
Growing up I didn't have any living Grandparents, so my Mom would start early -buying a few extra non perishable items With her groceries. By the week before Christmas she had a good stash of food.
We kids would help her bake cookies and gift wrap some empty boxes and fill them to give out to the local widows and Elderly couples in town. We would deliver them without them knowing where it came from. It was such a joy knowing we helped even just a little in blessing their Christmas and in turn blessed probably more!
My Mom has gone home to heaven and I did not inherit her gift for baking- but I can arrange flowers!
I have a group of teachers from Ballard who are willing to come and assist me in doing some floral arrangements, and ornaments for nursing home residents.
